Second Reading

February 10th was another standout day. I had received an invitation to go to Leigh Academy Bearsted and talk to Year 3 and 4 children.

This time the school wanted me to talk about storywriting.

When I arrived, the children were pleased to see me, and I started off asking for a little bit of feedback from them about the Harry Alliss stories that they were reading.

There were a lot of hands going up with the children being very excited to ask questions and put across their views.

The school asked me to stimulate their imaginations and creativity so that their storywriting would be enhanced.

In all I participated in four lessons, with approximately thirty children in each one.

It was a reasonably long day, as it did start very early, but overall, I was very elated.

We will be talking about the Harry Alliss illustrations next; that will be a lot of fun as well.

Many thanks to Leigh Academy and the children, off course.
